Happy 2016 ! We finally managed to put together a 10 minute video of our highlights of the 21 months sailing on Panthera !

In a couple of hours, I will close and lock the companion way hatch on Panthera for the final time and head home to the UK. Its a very sad moment as I could easily stay and have no desire for this adventure to end, but the time is right to head home to spend time with family and friends. Panthera has been an amazing sail boat that has taken us over 12ooo nautical miles across the Pacific ocean in…

Richard has gone home today ! Only 1 more week left for me. The last week has been busy with boat jobs, but we still had time to catch up with friends again and go out and explore Australia’s finest wildlife that we have only ever heard off while growing up in the UK.  We had a great day at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary where we interacted with those marvellous marsupials !

Despite this work…

The sun shone, the seas were calm and tranquil with 10-15 knot winds. Until the last 24 hours when we hit a squall and electrical storm. So we have arrived in Brisbane where customs, immigration and bio security boarded the boat for what was a very smooth checkin. We will stay…

When we started out across the Pacific from Mexico, Vanuatu wasn’t on the list of countries to visit. We had originally planned to sail as far as Tonga and then head to New Zealand. We changed New Zealand for Australia which took us on a direct route through Fiji and then Vanuatu. It is a decision we didn’t regret as Vanuatu has been the most interesting and probably our favourite place. We’ve been here 1 month and could probably…
